When two people get married, they get a new identity. That comes with starting a new family, new traditions, and a new culture. It might seem a bit crazy to go against tradition, especially now that it is the Holiday season of Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year's. This is what happens though. As a married couple, starting our own family, we had the opportunity to sit and talk about what we wanted our family traditions to look and sound like. We took the good and the bad of our families from growing up, and had a "Keep or Toss" conversation. We learned that those conversations keep happening throughout our marriage, in every season. Who's In Your Corner?

Many of us know that we should be wise and discerning when it comes to allowing people to speak into our lives. It is the same with your marriage. Not everyone we meet should have access and "speaking rights" to our marriage. It is good to have a conversation with God and your spouse about who should be in your corner, and should should just visit your porch.
