EP #19: Breaking Generational Patterns: How Buddhist Psychology Creates Space for Authentic Parenting and Living
In today’s episode, I’m joined by Noel Coakley, someone I’ve known from a distance since high school. Back then, he was just my friend’s cool older brother, but little did I know, he had already started his meditation journey in 1996. Fast forward to today, and Noel is blending Buddhism, psychology, meditation, and trauma-informed Western psychology to support his clients. He’s also the founder and director of the Boston Center for Contemplative Practice.Noel’s approach to wholeness, both in life and in his work, really resonates with me, and I was excited to explore how these teachings can deepen our understanding of ourselves. In this episode, we dive into the spiritual aspects of parenting, how Buddhism can inform our approach to life and leadership, and Noel shares a transformational practice that really aligns with shadow work.Noel discusses his work, emphasizing the importance of unconditional love and the concept of Buddha nature. He shares a practice called Guru Yoga, which involves visualizing an unconditional loving being to reconnect with one's inherent wholeness. The conversation highlights the integration of spirituality and therapy, the challenges of parenting, and the ongoing practice of self-awareness and compassion. Noel hosts annual retreats, courses, and more - make sure to connect with Nore for more. If you enjoy this conversation, be sure to share it with others.Connect with Noel: Bio: https://www.thebccp.com/team/2019/6/25/noel-coakley-med-lmhcEvents: www.thebccp.comIG: @wakeupsleepybuddhaSchedule a session: Schedule a Meditation/Therapy Session or General MeetingLink to free set of guided meditationsLinktree (upcoming events, podcasts): https://linktr.ee/wakeupsleepybuddhaSupport the showWelcome to the Raising Wholeness podcast. EP 16: Jenn Reilly | Reparenting with Unconditional Love
When we reparent our younger parts with unconditional love, we not only heal our inner children, we start to build a relationship and an embodied knowing of unconditional love. AND love as the Holy Mother and Beloved Father, the divine feminine and the divine masculine. These are universal principles/energies that we all have access too. And the imprint of how we start to understand this love from the universe is through the imprinting of our parents. Cultivating a relationship with unconditional love is deeply healing, heals our younger parts, and informs our way of being and loving. In this solo episode, I share some of the work I do with my clients on healing through cultivating a relationship with unconditional love. If you have questions or are curious how to work this practice into your life, reach out, work with me 1:1 or join my community. About Me // Jenn ReillyI'm Jenn Reilly, Host of Mystics Rising and I created this podcast to share and inspire others on their own inward journey in support of our nurturing our future generations.Although I've always been interested in spirituality, self development, and ways to know myself, I truly came home to the importance my own development with the birth of my daughter. Nothing seemed more important than what/how I am role modeling for her and those around me.I now support coaches, leaders, and parents in cultivating their own path of wholeness, building practices of regulation, healing negative self-talk, healing child parts, unpacking their childhood, and rewiring their life to live into their best self.Work with me:Book a Free Discovery CallWork with Mystics Rising Host, Jenn Reilly Mystic Mama // Journey of Feminine WholenessAbout Mystics Rising: Mystics Rising is podcast dedicated to an emergent exploration of wholeness.
