The Dirty South Podcast - Our Knockout review, Braves IBT preview and an interview with Conor Beebe

The guys get together on the last day of 2025 to catch up after a week off and talk about the Christmas Knockout Classic. (Just don't wish Brant a Happy New Year)The best wrestling performances on both the girls and boys side are discussed from the Knockout as each discuss wrestlers that left their mark at Silver Spurs. After that breakdown, the podcast welcomes Conor Beebe, of Beebe-Trained, to talk about the RAF date in Florida coming up, how we can play a huge role in the continued growth in wrestling, and gets the guys fired up with some of his motivation talk. Beebe's segment is a must-listen. The gang then end the podcast talking about the big tournament in Florida this weekend, the Braves IBT. It has 65 boys teams and 57 girls teams ready to wrestle on 14 mats in Winter Haven. No predictions this week, maybe those will be back in the coming weeks. Happy New Year to all of you and we can't wait to talk even more in 2026. The Dirty South Podcast - Looking ahead to a big weekend -- and even bigger next weekend

The guys look back on their picks from Week 1 and talk about some of the highlights from the first weekend in Florida and across the Southeast. They also look ahead to an exciting weekend with some big events in Ohio and Tennessee and make picks for tournaments in Florida. Brant also laments how Dan and Jason are beloved when they show up to tournaments and he just gets side eye looks because he didn't rank someone correctly. The season is full gas and so is this week's podcast.

Coach Gug: Let them be kids

Legendary Manatee coach Andrew "Gug" Gugliemini joins the podcast to talk about his 30+ years in coaching. Gug talks about how he got into coaching after school and where he got started before coming home to Manatee. We discuss the importance of fun in his program, that also emphasizes toughness and hard work. Along with lessons learned from coaching over more than three decades, we also discuss the heartbreaking tragedy from March, when junior Jann Michael Feeney lost his life after being shot in the chest while hanging out in a backyard with friends. The always passionate coach then pleas for answers to questions about how to teach kids about being aware, and safe, around weapons and what we can do as leaders to help prevent these from happening. In the end, Coach Gug knows that these are kids that he and his staff and people across the state are helping to mold and wants to remind all them to take time to be a kid while they still can.
