Winter Whiner's and Universal Truths with Special guest Michael Ray Lewis

Michael Ray Lewis is a former atheist, current filmmaker whose most recent documentary "Universe Designed" Delves into questions about the nature of the universe and how it relates to God and Christianity. Lewis's atheism wasn’t rooted in hostility toward God at first, but in unanswered questions. “Questions like, ‘Well, evolution has disproven Christianity,'” and, “‘If there’s an all-loving God, then there wouldn’t be the existence of evil in the world.'” He also struggled with the idea of judgment, saying, “I can’t believe in a God who would send me to an eternal punishment just because I have trouble believing in Him.” With Christians around him unable to address those objections, he drifted deeper into unbelief. He consumed atheist documentaries like Bill Maher’s and the viral film Zeitgeist, which claimed Christianity was a myth copied from pagan religions. He believed both of those documentaries were showing how Christianity wasn’t true. What he didn’t realize then was that many of those claims had long been refuted by historians and scholars. Tonight, he and Brad discuss his latest documentary and how it reveals the truth about God in our lives. Former Alabama State Senator Henry E. “Hank” Erwin is known as the “storyteller of motivation!” His talent for telling stories that entertain and result in commitment and action are legendary. He learned the art of storytelling from his late father Medal of Honor Recipient Henry “Red” Erwin who held small crowds spellbound with stories of bravery in World War II. The stories were so detailed and compelling that Hank embraced the art form into his own life. Hank became a committed Christian in college and married his sweetheart Shelia Daniel the day before his graduation. They have been together now fifty two years, with two married sons, and seven grandchildren. But it was telling stories that guided his life.
