Comic Timing Episode 269 – Warner Bros. Goes Tudum

Dec 12th, 2025 6:03 PM

We’ve got the full Blue Team gathered together for this end of year bash, and boy is there tons to talk about. Ian, Brent, Donovan, Kris, Jamal, Raph and Brandon start things off with the ten thousand pound elephant in the room, aka Warner Bros. being sold to Netflix, unless Paramount uses hostility (and a steel chair) to buy them first. This includes how this might affect DC Comics publishing arm, as well as their movies, and other potential ramifications and changes. They then touch on some DC and Marvel crossovers, specifically the Batman/Deadpool and Deadpool/Batman one-shots, and the now upcoming Superman/Spider-Man crossover coming in March 2026! Other topics include how headlines can blow passing statements out of proportion (the Sara Pichelli Miles Morales hubbub in particular), the original untouched Star Wars movies finally getting a rerelease, some further Kamen Rider talk, recent reads including the first three issues of Matt Fraction’s Batman, DC KO and DC KO: Knightfall, Spider-Man ’94, Dono’s year-long adventure reading the Argentinian comic book Cybersix, Moriarty: The Patriot from Shonen Jump, and yes, Dynamite’s ongoing Lion King comic. Kris is lampbane on Bluesky, and you can check out her various other works at http://linktr.ee/krisnaudus. Jamal is on Bluesky and Instagram and you can find everything else about him at his website. Raph is on Twitch at RaphDoesStuff, Instagram, and Bluesky. Brandon is on Bluesky and Twitch, and will be running a panel at AnimeNJ++! Thanks for listening, we’ll catch you next time, and as always, there’s always time for comics!

Comic Timing Episode 268 – The Amazing Adventures of Kavalier & Clay, Kirby & Netflix

Dec 6th, 2025 8:29 PM

A rare weekend release, as Ian ventures into Brooklyn to hang with Kris in person. First, they discuss their thoughts on the opera adaptation of The Amazing Adventures of Kavalier & Clay, which will be returning to The Metropolitan Opera House in February for an encore performance. They then touch on Netflix purchasing Warner Bros as the news broke earlier in the day, and BlueTeam will go further in depth on the topic with our next episode. They then close on visiting The Kirby Museum’s latest pop-up exhibit at One Art Space in Manhattan, Jack Kirby: From the Ghetto to the Cosmos, and the slightly unhinged 1986 public access interview with Kirby they got to see. Plus forgetting the mayor works at City Hall, the Japanese game is called shogi, and more!
