Happy New Year, Thank You & Get To Know Me
Hi, I’m Georgia — the host and producer of Fill the Silence. I just want to start by saying Happy New Year, and a huge thank you for listening to Fill the Silence week after week. What started as a small idea has quietly snowballed into something really special, taking you along with me to the places and sounds that make up my everyday life. I realised recently that I’ve never formally introduced myself — so, hello. I’m Georgia. I have a wonderful fiancé, Luke, and an amazing two-year-old collie–staffy cross called Pippa. We live on an English river in a wide-beam boat, which we’ve spent the past year renovating. I’m a creative at heart, with a background in musical theatre. I love animals, long dog walks, fashion, and every cup of tea I drink is always accompanied by cake. Travel is a huge part of our lives, and it’s something I’m especially excited to bring to you in 2026. Pippa, Luke and I travel through Europe, splitting our time mostly between England, France and Italy — which means we’re often surrounded by some truly incredible sounds. My hope for Fill the Silence is that it helps you fill your silence, whatever that looks like for you. Whether you’re focusing while answering work emails, drifting off to sleep, or simply closing your eyes and imagining you’re walking along the sea in France or through a bustling French town — even if that feels very far away from where you are right now. Your continued listening genuinely means the world to me. It’s just little me, walking around with a small microphone, editing on my laptop, and posting — hoping someone out there enjoys it. So if you do like Fill the Silence, I’d be incredibly grateful if you could rate or leave a review on whatever platform you listen on, and follow along so you never miss a new episode. New episodes are out every Monday. I wish you nothing but happiness and health in 2026. Wherever you are, whoever you are — thank you for listening to Fill the Silence. Birdsong & River Flow: A Natural Soundscape
Fill The Silence with Birdsong at an outdoor coffee shop. This episode of Fill the Silence was recorded beside a Hertfordshire river in England, while enjoying tea and chocolate cake at a small converted horse-box café. You’ll hear the soundscape exactly as it unfolded: birdsong on a crisp winter morning, dog walkers stopping for hot drinks, gravel underfoot, planes passing overhead, and the steady rush of a historic weir in the background. Around 25 minutes in, a brief military helicopter passes overhead. If you recognise any of the birds you hear, I’d love to know their names in the comments. And if the calm sounds of a riverside café are what you need to fill the silence, I hope you enjoy this episode.
