Two musical worlds collide
The two worlds of new classical music and indie rock rarely collide and yet why? Both push the boundaries of sound, form and instrumentation. One extraordinary night at the Thornbury Theatre will see seemingly opposite musical worlds collide. In this episode of Kiss My Arts, we chat with founder and artistic director of the Arcko Symphonic Ensemble, Timothy Phillips; and multi-instrumentalist and founder of Glasfrosch, who are joining forces for this spectacular concert. Kiss My Arts is taking a holiday break, and will return to Joy 94.9 in a few months. The post Two musical worlds collide appeared first on Kiss My Arts.
Rachael Zella and The Blackbirds
Talented Sydney-based singer/songwriter Rachael Zella joins us on the show. Her music is real, emotive and deliciously colourful, and will take you on a heart-felt journey from start to finish. If you combine the storytelling of folk, the soul of country, the “”do-it-yourself”” attitude of indie and the technical training of classical, you get the wonderful music of Rachael Zella. The ultimate independent artist, Daniel Bastow
Songwriter, multi-instrumentalist and audio engineer Daniel Bastow joins us on the show to talk about how he creates and produces all of his own music, right from his home studio. Everything you hear in the music is Daniel…he writes, performs, records and engineers! His music is raw, real and full of emotion, with everything from acoustic guitar and cello tracks to 30-piece rock songs. The Tiger and Me
Melbourne 6-piece weave a rare mixture of styles and sounds as the multi-instrumentalists and 3 vocalists exchange and merge tunes from whispered ballads and charming pop, to gypsy folk and dirty rock. They join us on the show and treat us to a wonderful live acoustic performance. The post The Tiger and Me appeared first on Kiss My Arts.
