An award-winning smash hit series hosted by kiwi comedians Guy Montgomery and Tim Batt. The pair have been punishing themselves with movies for your enjoyment since Feb 2014, starting by watching and reviewing Grown Ups 2 once a week, every week, for a full year. They applied the same treatment to Sex and The City 2, Sex and The City, We Are You Friends, the Emmanuelle franchise of softcore adult films and now are taking on The Fast and Furious franchise in reverse order. The boiz are at the beach because it may be NZ Winter, but it’s also NZ sunny today. And to prove we’re in New Zealand, we randomly ran into our friend, Brady - a delightful man who looks strikingly like modern depictions of Jesus carrying a TV. Why? You’ll just have to listen to find out.Find out what Brady looks like by watching the video at twioat.substack.com Hosted on Acast. See acast.com/privacy for more information.

Diggin Dennis Dugan: Problem Child

Aug 5th, 2026 2:50 AM

The time is now to visit (in many ways) the origin point of the entire 15 year Worst Idea project. Dennis Dugan’s directorial debut is Problem Child - a 1990 movie which itself is fairly problematic. Beyond the liberal use of the R word and a B-plot involving a serial killer (played by Michael Richards - famously the only unproblematic figure in comedy) being the 8-year-old protagonist’s hero, this movie just plain seems to hate human beings. On the other hand, it is the genesis of the Vibes-based cinema system pioneered by Dugan and perfected by Sandler. Hosted on Acast. See acast.com/privacy for more information.

Family Friends 02

Aug 1st, 2026 3:55 AM

In this incredible Family Friends episode, Guy spends 10 full minutes explaining a fascinating situation involving the English national test cricket team absolutely ruining themselves. On our way to this, we get Tim waxing lyric on the benefits of having a big ass kindle thing you can write on and what’s wrong with Philip K Dick’s Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep. And also Oppenheimer. But mainly this is about the cricket story. Hosted on Acast. See acast.com/privacy for more information.

Getting Rob'ed: The Benchwarmers

Jul 19th, 2026 8:59 AM

Imagine if Adam Sandler made a movie simply to try and get two friends back together. Imagine if Rob Schneider was one of those guys. And now imagine that the movie doesn’t totally suck. The movie you’ve just created in your head is Dennis Dugan’s 2006 Sports Comedy: The Benchwarmers. A heartwarming tale featuring Schneider, in a rare cinematic move for him, as a straight man against Napoleon Dynamite’s Jon Heder and the people’s champion David Spade. The boiz did not hate this one. In fact, it’s not only a serviceable comedy movie that gives millennials a hit of nostalgia, there are a number of genuine laugh lines. Crazy to think what Rob was capable of in his prime. Oh, how the mighty have fallen. Hosted on Acast. See acast.com/privacy for more information.

Family Friends 01

Jul 6th, 2026 2:42 AM

Let’s discuss the nature of time - a topic that permeates the near decade and a half history of this god forsaken podcast series. Tim and Guy are talking about YouTube, Guy’s hair and most importantly they’re back in the mailbag exploring how different municipalities experience time and briefly, how the luddites might be back (hooray)! Huge shout out to our mate's series Bryn and Kura’s Singles ClubJoin us for video and bonus content on the Substack Hosted on Acast. See acast.com/privacy for more information.
