Episode 11: Your Body Can Amaze You with Dr. Amanda Sovik-Johnston

In Episode 11, Hannah and Claire chat with Dr. Amanda Sovik-Johnston. Amanda is the owner of Virginia Family Therapy and a licensed clinical psychologist specializing in working with pre-teen and teenage girls as well as families of all ages. She also co-hosts Podcast Therapists, a podcast focused on helping parents and caregivers understand the insanity of family life through the lens of psychological theory and research.

In this episode, Amanda discusses what it means to honor our bodies, including the recognition of both our capabilities and limitations. Amanda also shares her personal journey to fully seeing her own strength, including what she gained through her training with Coach Don Easterling of NC State and her subsequent first place finish in the 200 meter fly at the 2019 Spring Masters Nationals.
