GOALD - Fighting Temptations

How do we fight off the temptations that try to distract us from achieving our GOAL of becoming more like Christ (Gold)?

We know it's not as easy as it sounds, as Samson was called to be a Judge in Israel, yet over and over he allowed temptations to rule his life.

Here are 3 ways we can FIGHT our temptations:

1. Guard your Gates - Watch what you allow your eyes and ears to be exposed to

Matthew 6:24

"The eye is the lamp of the body. You draw light into your body through your eyes, and light shines out to the world through your eyes. So if your eye is well and shows you what is true, then your whole body will be filled with light. 23 But if your eye is clouded or evil, then your body will be filled with evil and dark clouds. And the darkness that takes over the body of a child of God who has gone astray—that is the deepest, darkest darkness there is"

1. Guard your Heart/ Mind - The Amount of time you invest in someone or something

Ecclesiastes 5:7

“Talk is cheap, like daydreams and other useless activities. Fear God instead.”

2nd Corinthians 10:5

And we take captive every thought to make it obedient to Christ.

1. Guard your Steps- Set up Boundaries

Psalms 37:23

“The Lord directs the steps of the godly. He delights in every detail of their lives.”

1. Watch what I expose my eyes and Ears to
2. Don’t allow my heart and mind to get entangled into what I can’t say No to
3. The enemy has no new tricks
