“Jerry, just remember—when you go to New York, God’s already been there [working] in that person’s life.” Jerry McCorkle recalls his father’s wise instruction before leaving on a mission trip to New York City to spread the gospel. Over the years, he’s learned that God does indeed go before us, sending “signals” to people in everyday life that prepare them to receive the Good News.

Nearly 30 years later, those mission trips are still happening. It started in 1996 with Jerry and some college students. Today, Spread Truth Ministries is an international effort that equips Christians to share their faith. With resources like The Story App, The Story Booklet, gospel-centered training, and mission trips to NYC and Kenya, Spread Truth is helping people share and meet Jesus.

In today’s episode, Jerry tells the story of Spread Truth and offers practical guidance on sharing your faith. Spoiler alert: we need the introverts, you don’t have to memorize a formula, and pastors don’t always know what to say!
