Nick Dellasega should have died on May 7th, 2011, at the age of twenty-six. During a 5k race, he collapsed and his heart stopped beating. A teenage cousin prayed fervently at Nick's side, asking particularly for the intercession of Fr. Emil Kapaun, the Kansas-native, Korean-war chaplain. Barely making it to a hospital in time, Nick should have been brain-dead or beyond resuscitation when his pulse restarted. His miraculous case is now being considered by the Vatican for the canonization cause for Fr. Kapaun....
