I'm so honored to have Sissy Goff back in the studio to discuss her new book, The Worry-Free Parent: Living in Confidence So Your Kids Can Too. When Sissy was here a couple years ago for her book Raising Worry Free Girls, the response was overwhelming, and to this day, I still hear from so many parents who were deeply impacted by that book!

A counselor for over 30 years who helps families through her counseling practice, Sissy joins me today to discuss her new book, pointing out that so many kids today are dealing with anxiety which so often stems from their parents' own anxiety. The Worry-Free Parent is filled with practical tools parents can implement immediately to help them let go of control and allow their kids to experience discomfort and find freedom from worry. As difficult as that may sound to some parents, it builds character, resilience, and hope for the future. Our ultimate job as parents is to raise capable adults, and that can only happen if we allow them to learn.

Anxiety in both parents and kids stems from intrusive thoughts becoming stuck in a "loop rollercoaster" in our minds, and Sissy walks us through calming techniques to help shift us out of that loop. The key, she shares with us, is learning to release our need for control.
