Yesterday, we lost the voice of an entire generation, and I lost my closest mentor and a truly wonderful friend.

Charlie Kirk wasn’t just a political leader. He was a husband, father, mentor, and true friend who embodied the biblical principles of Salt and Light in every part of his life. He was like salt as a preserver and enhancer of culture, and like light as a sharer of the illumination of God’s truth to people everywhere. From the stage to the green room, from political tabling debates to late-night Cubs games, Charlie’s legacy is one of steadfast goodness, graciousness, courage, faith, and fearlessness.

I don’t know what comes next, truthfully, but I do know that we need to share this heartbreak together. When everything feels hopeless, we can remain grounded in the hope of eternal life–where today, Charlie is more alive than we are.

Today, we remember Charlie’s extraordinary mission. His unshakable dedication to God, his family, his friends, and an entire generation that he inspired to speak the truth no matter the cost. The mission doesn’t end here. It’s time for all of us to pick up the torch and carry it forward.
