Welcome to your therapy Thursday where you hear about everyone else's dilemmas that will surely make you feel as though your own life isn't as much of a shit show.
The questions that we're diving into today are:
- I've just gotten back into the dating game and have been on a few first dates. I'm having a lot of fun. However, I'm starting to feel a bit stressed about seeing multiple people at the same time and being judged by people around me. Is there such a thing as dating too many people at the same time?
- My new girlfriend has conservative, 'no sex before marriage' parents, but she herself doesn't have the same beliefs. We are going on a trip in a few weeks and her parents want us to stay in different rooms while we are there. I haven't met her parents yet but my girlfriend wants me to lie to her parents when I meet them and say that we always sleep separately. To what degree should I uphold her lie? At what point should she have a conversation about differing values with her parents?
- I have just found out that I have fertility issues. I have endo and tried to freeze my eggs but it didn't work. I'm single and I'm wondering when to tell guys that I date? I don't want to freak them out but also don't want to leave it too long. It's been really hard for me to think about so I just haven't been dating at all.
- My step sister has been given a plus 1 to our wedding as she's dating someone that we've both met. My parent's now want my step brother to have a plus 1 even though he's not seeing anyone. We are having a very small wedding with 53 people and have already cut friends from the list that we would have liked to be there. Do you think my parents have the right to demand this? They are contributing some money to the wedding, but had them choosing the guest list been a term/condition, we wouldn't have accepted the money.
