On this episode of the Trueface Podcast, Robby is back with another solo episode, wrestling with this question: How Do I Know if I Am Relying on God or Myself? My gut reaction when life gets messy or hard is to draw on my own strengths, gifts, and willpower. I want humility and trusting God to be more of an initial reaction, but it rarely is. I believe this is a byproduct of my chief sin of pride, which points to a posture of “I Can”, compared to humility which takes a posture of “I can’t”. This underpins my natural reliance on myself instead of an initial reliance on God with most aspects of my life. I believe this tension is a foundational component of my spiritual maturity, and this is a life-long journey. Pride runs deep, and humility is a slow burn.
