Mountains Meet Families is a podcast about listening across roles — and understanding what happens when professional decisions meet real family life.

Hosted by Jaycie Bias, this podcast brings together two connected conversations each month. In the first episode, we sit down with a professional working inside child welfare, family services, or a related system to talk about what the work teaches over time — beyond titles, policies, or job descriptions. In the second episode, we shift the microphone to a foster, adoptive, or kinship family — or a foster care alum — whose life has been positively impacted by the work of that organization.

These conversations are designed to sit side by side. One offers professional perspective. The other offers lived experience. Together, they help us better understand how intention becomes impact when support is done well.

Rooted in West Virginia but relevant far beyond it, Mountains Meet Families creates space for honest, respectful dialogue — where professionals feel human, families feel heard, and learning happens in the space between.
