On August 29, 2015, Bear Diaz texted his mother goodnight and was never seen again. The 20-year-old man from El Cajon, California was a Type-1 diabetic and left with money and enough insulin for about a week. Family and friends hoped he was just taking some time away, but when he missed his tribe's annual pow-wow, his mother knew something was terribly wrong.
