Hey everyone! This is the first episode of our new weekly sideshow dedicated to Coronavirus updates. In today’s show we give you an update on the number of cases in San Pedro as well as other surrounding communities. We also share our reaction to the Mayor asking everyone to wear a mask in public.
Our first guest on the show is Shannon Ross, the creator of the “Pedro Updates and Resources - Covid 19” local facebook group which is dedicated to providing verified and accurate information related to resources for our community. She’s even put together a public spreadsheet with a list of restaurants open and whether they are doing take out, delivery, curbside pick up or all three. The spreadsheet also covers local grocery store hours, and other helpful resources.
Shannon is currently putting together a tribute to local essential workers and asks the community’s help to send pictures of these workers. Links below.
Also joining us in the show today is John Bagakis, Owner of Big Nick’s Pizza. He’s incredibly involved in the community and has really stepped up in these crazy times as a leader and beacon of hope. He tells us about how the Coronavirus and the Safer At Home order is affecting our local restaurant industry, and his business specifically. Big Nick’s is open for Take-Out and Delivery. Links and more info below.
