The 1994 murders of the Rafay family — Sultana Rafay, her husband Tariq, and their autistic daughter, Basma — focused on the pursuit and arrest of the two primary suspects: Atif Rafay, the only surviving family member, and his friend Sebastian Burns, who took refuge in Canada and had written the script for a film called “The Great Despisers,” whose plot paralleled the 1994 murders.
