In our exposition of the Book of Romans, we have come to a verse that causes many people to stumble. In Romans 9:13, we read that, “Jacob have I loved, but Esau have I hated.” The concept of divine hatred is an extremely important concept to understand. First and foremost, we must accept the fact that it is taught in Scripture and that it reflects the perfectly holy nature of God. And even though this concept may be hard from some to accept, when we understand it in its context, we learn some rich truths that ultimately help us grasp the true nature of God’s eternal love for His people. Please join us today for the first half of our sermon on this important topic.
