Jonathan Edwards is a veteran camp counselor who has spent twenty years teaching wilderness survival, training young counselors, and sleeping beneath the stars. Then an unholy howl rolls out of the jungle.

After a savage nighttime attack tears through the camp, Jonathan discovers that the property was built directly over an ancient protective sigil. Beneath the nearby mountains lies a bat-filled cavern, a supernatural portal known as the Well of Chupacabra, and a pack of reptilian creatures waiting for another chance to enter our world.

Armed with wilderness experience, a loyal Zippo lighter, and a case of dynamite, Jonathan and camp owner Paul Williams descend into the darkness to seal the well before the Chupacabras return. But destroying one monster nest may reveal that Puerto Rico is hiding far more supernatural secrets than either man imagined.
