Episode 13: Aityuk again, Khan’s questionable off-season, and Steelers contract extensions

Episode 13 of the Steelers Sanctuary Podcast is out.  Ron Lippock is back with us to talk Steelers football.  We start the show with a discussion about the NFL losing its lawsuit over Sunday Ticket, and being ordered to pay almost $15 billion in damages.  We speak on how this may affect the league’s greedy television policy going forward. 

Next what would a podcast be without some Brandon Aiyuk talk.  Aiyuk was on the Pivet podcast talking about how he does not feel like he and the 49ers are anywhere close to a contract agreement.  He cited the Commanders, and the Steelers as the two most likely teams he would go to if he didn’t stay in San Francisco.  

This leads us to a discussion on how exactly has Omar Khan’s off-season gone?  While many laud his moves, we question if he hasn’t botched the WR2 situation. That, combined with the Diontae Johnson trade, and the failure to read the free agent center market have us concerned.

The pod wraps up with us looking at the team’s free agents after the season.  We take each one, and decide if they are candidates for an extension before the season, starts.  Most think Pat Freiermuth is the most likely to get one, but I wonder if he may be betting on himself instead.
