Jesus quoted Isaiah 61 and claimed to be the promised messiah that would fulfill this Old Testament prophecy. This is no doubt a scandolous claim in an of itself--that a physical person would claim to be God incarnate. But beyond that, what does this prophecy actually mean on the ground?
