Loïc Bruni: Inside the world of downhill mountain biking with one of the greatest of all time

When Rob Warner commentates on five-time downhill world champion Loïc Bruni, he calls him the professor – and it’s easy to see why.

The Frenchman is not just a serial winner, but also a deep thinker about what he calls the best sport in the world: downhill mountain biking.

We’ve reached episode 11 in Just Ride season one, so Rob and Eliot thought it was about time they called up a legend of their own sport to tell the audience all about the complexities of downhill, from the technical challenges to the fascinating mental battles at the elite end of the sport.

At just 29 years of age, Loïc has won five world titles and has his sights set on winning two more, which would bring him level with Nico Vouilloz, his compatriot and seven-time winner. Loïc spoke to Rob and Eliot about chasing the great man while fighting off the incredible new young crop of downhill stars – and much, much more.
