Chapter 16　Songs and Prayers

The Psalms in the Bible were originally written to be sung. Here God is teaching us that we should sing to him at all times, when we are sad, when we are happy, when we are sick, when we have failed and sinned, when we are in the midst of trials, when we are persecuted, when we are thankful and full of joy for his blessings, when we are rich, and when we are poor and in need. Christians are unique among all people for their singing to God. The Psalms also teach us how to pray and what to pray. They are the prayers that Christians have prayed to their “Father in Heaven” throughout the ages. Many of them were written about 3,000 years ago.
