The growth of the sport of football in India has led to an increasing speculation about India, often termed as 'The Sleeping Giant' of football, finally waking up from its slumber. The growth of Indian football is evident; there has been a large inflow of capital in the Indian Super League, player salaries have gone up, the quality of football has gone up, players from outside India want to play in the ISL because of the payments offered, foreign coaches have started managing Indian Super League clubs and most importantly, the ISL has become a global brand.
