子曰：「君子懷德，小人懷土；君子懷刑，小人懷惠。」-《論語•里仁》

孔子说：一位求职者的君子，他心中思念住在有仁德的处所。而小人所想的，却是处所的田地财产，有什么利益。而实际上，君子对于自己的行为，时常惦记着着如何实行，才能合乎乎圣贤的典型。而小人做事却只想到自己有没有受到恩惠，利益。

孔子說：一位求道的君子，他心中思念住在有仁德的處所。而小人所想的，卻是處所的田地財產，有什麼利益。另一方面來說，君子對於自己的行為，時常惦記著如何實行，才能合乎聖賢的典型。而小人做事卻只想到自己有沒有受到恩惠、利益。
