The Sailing Show: S6E11 - Demila Tassin’s First Mini Transat Race

Abby’s guest on the season finale of The Sailing Show is Spanish sailor, Demila Tassin who has recently returned from competing in the Mini Transat Race for the first time. The Mini Transat is a race Djemila had been dreaming of for the past five years and we hear about her journey to the start line, the challenges, the highs and lows and what she has learnt from this unique experience.

The Mini Transat is a 4,050 nautical mile race from Les Sables d’Olonne in France to Saint-François in Guadeloupe, with a stopover in Santa Cruz de La Palma. This race has acquired the reputation of a true test of ocean racing and for good reason, it’s a single handed, without outside assistance or weather routing by satellite in a 6.5m boat.
