How Shame Gets a Hold of Us (Part 3)

Some days it is unbelievably hard to believe that God or anyone else could love us, much less like us. It's because each of us has this big pile of evidence that we add to each time we get hurt. We think that if we were truly loveable, these things wouldn't happen to us. 

But the truth is, these things happen to us because we live in a broken and sinful world. Each time we get hurt, we feel forced to view our lives through the lens of shame. God has invited each of us on a journey of discovering those lies and exploring what life can look like when we are free of their power. I took him up on it, and my life has been completely transformed.
