Sin And Forgiveness

What are some of the sayings you have grown up with? For me, my Dad loved this one: “It’s close enough for horse shoes and hand grenades.” The most confusing one for me was: “You can’t see for the forest for the trees.” Took me about 10 years to finally figure that one out! I bring up sayings because if ever there was a saying that represents the first 11 chapters of the Bible it’s this: “Houston, we have a problem.” Adam and Eve taking that first bite… ”Houston, we have a problem.” Noah fermenting that first harvest of grapes… “Houston, we have a problem.” The Israelites over and over again… “Houston, we have a problem.” Humankind has a sin problem. Even if we are in a perfect place (Eden), even if we are given a second chance (Noah’s family), and even if we are given all the rules to live by clearly written down and passed down from generation to generation (The Mosaic Law), we will eventually disobey. If you read the Bible from the perspective that people keep messing up God’s plan, I would humbly suggest you are reading from the wrong point of view. This message explores that idea and what I believe God has always intended from the moment He said, “Let there be light.” Thanks for joining us for this series!
