What lines of advice, practices, teachings, and books will help me prepare for the death transition and afterlife? This is the question we will explore in this evening class which is also a prelude to the more in-depth training of the Death, Dying, & Afterlife Intensive. We will be exploring 3 broad areas with specific topics in each. These 3 broad areas are 1) meditation practices preparing for death 2) the in-between state and 3) how can I help those who have passed.

Meditation Practice Preparing for Death:

-What is the subtle body anatomy involved in the death process

-What meditation practices should I do on a regular basis to prepare for death

-What is the practice of transference of consciousness

The In-between (between death and a new rebirth) State:

-What are the different in-between states (6 Bardos)

-What should one do during each in-between state

-What practices can one do to prepare for the in-between state

How Can I Help Those Who Have Passed?

-What are the best practices for the living to do for those who have passed?

-What is the basis of such practices as reading to the dead (i.e. Tibetan Book of the Dead)?
