We're talking about the 1986 shoujo sci-fi movie They Were Eleven, based on the 1975 manga series by Hagio Moto, one of the authors who helped bring about the golden age of shoujo manga. Part Among Us, part Survivor, and add in a touch of romance, the new Esperanza crew have to survive 53 days in space, or else they...can't go to space college? There's unfortunate nicknames, space intuition, an emotional support guitar, juicing mice, gender fluidity, plant robots, and a food fight.
