How Does Work Serve You?

Morning friends, I spend today talking mostly about work! I didn't think I would end up talking so much about it but here we are. I discuss it from a selfish point of view where we need to be thinking more about ourselves. How does work serve us? If it doesn't, why not? What do we need for it to do so?
