Sliding into the confessions booth this week is the magnificent Charlie Claire Burgess, aka the word witch.

They are a tarot reader, author, illustrator, and deck creator.  

Charlie is the creator of many esoteric offerings, including the Fifth Spirit Tarot deck and their latest book called Queer Devotion.  

Speaking of devotion, we compare notes about finding our way from strict religious upbringing to non-traditional, personalised devotional practice. And Charlie inspires me to look once again into working with Aprhodite. 

We share the challenges of reading for close friends and romantic partners. And how the tarot can shapeshift and reveal new layers of meaning and depth over time.

We also talk about the lush card stock and shuffle-ability of the original version of the Fifth Spirit Tarot deck.
