Defending the Trinity

Orthodox worship and doctrine strongly affirm the one God as a triune God, a trinity of persons. But the understanding of this foundational teaching is often ignored, misunderstood, or even denied among others who claim to be Christian. How can we defend this essential doctrine clearly?
