Unsolved Mysteries Rewind 73: The Strange and Mysterious Death of Joyce Chiang

A year and a half before Chandra Levy’s disappearance and subsequent murder, another D.C. intern went missing. Joyce Chiang disappeared on January 9, 1999 after a night out with friends. Four days later, her wallet and apartment keys were found on the bank of the Anacostia River. Three months later, her remains were found 8 miles downriver from the original site. Authorities suggested suicide, but the parallels between Joyce’s and Chandra’s cases forced investigators to explore other leads.
