Noooooo-la: Aaron Nola’s struggles continue as Phillies postseason approaches

Aaron Nola gave up five runs in the blink of an eye in Wednesday night’s loss to the Brewers in Milwaukee.

He has a 6.78 ERA in 69 innings this season. It’s the sixth-highest ERA by any Philadelphia Phillies starter (minimum 65 innings) since earned runs became an official National League statistic in 1912. It’s not good. It’s especially concerning with Zack Wheeler missing the rest of the season, and the Phillies having no clear alternative to be a right-hander in the postseason rotation.
