Elizabeth Bodien is the author of two books of poetry: Blood, Metal, Fiber, Rock and Oblique Music: A Book of Hours and one non-fiction work: Journeys with Fortune: A Tale of Other Lives, a collection of her past lives experienced while in hypnotic trance. Her poems, essays, and book reviews have appeared in Cimarron Review, Crannóg, and Parabola, among other publications in the USA, Ireland, Canada, Australia, and India. She holds degrees in cultural anthropology, consciousness studies, religions, and poetry, and has worked as an English instructor in Japan, an organic farmer in the Oregon mountains, a childbirth instructor in West Africa, a Montessori teacher, and as a professor of cultural anthropology.
