A Rider on a Red Horse (Revelation 6:3-4) The symbolism of a “fiery red” horse was traditionally a portrait of war and bloodshed. It is possible the rider is the same as the first seal judgment. The coming world ruler will arise in an atmosphere proclaiming peace, but he will soon take it from the earth. Wars will increase before the end of human history as we now know it (Matthew 24:6-7). It appears that just before the return of Jesus Christ, wars among the peoples of the world will intensify, along with the cries for peace. The horse is “fiery red,” and we cannot help relating this to the description of Satan as “an enormous red dragon” (Revelation 12:3). What happens when the red horse appears?
