Let’s Not Underreact To The Bills Opening Loss Either

On this episode of Talking Buffalo Podcast, the Buffalo Bills began the 2021 NFL season victims of an upset loss at home to the Pittsburgh Steelers. Patrick Moran is joined by recurring guest Joe From Queens (@BuffaloWins) and discuss that while the sky certainly isn’t falling, we don’t need to be underreacting to Sunday’s ugly start to the season either.

The guys discuss a Bills offense that on this day was often physically manhandled by a Pittsburgh Steelers defense that defended every yard of the field. In particular the offensive line struggled against a Pittsburgh front four that constantly bothered Josh Allen without having to blitz. They also discuss how much that affected Allen and why he didn’t play better, in fact often look like the 2019 version of himself as opposed to the 2020 NFL MVP runner up we saw last year.

They also talk about a Buffalo defense that dominated the first half but then faded late, special teams ultimately deciding the game, what the hell offensive coordinator Brian Daboll was thinking on Sunday, a look ahead to what becomes a pretty important Week two divisional matchup in Miami, thoughts on the Bills/Sabres new vaccination policy and much more.
