Part 1. A brilliant scientist and the wife of his colleague are found dead beside a picturesque river. Both victims are strangely covered and there are no clues as to how they died. The police soon have a suspect, but he has an astonishing and scandalous alibi. So begins one of the most baffling cases in the history of crime.
