"Toba Tek Singh" is one of the most famous short stories written by a well renowned writer named as Saadat Hasan Manto. This Punjabi short story was published in the year 1955 in which it provides a glimpse of atrocities that happened during the partition of India in 1947.  

The story revolves around the inmates in a Lahore asylum, some of whom are supposed to be transferred to India following the 1947 Partition keeping their religion in consideration. This story is a "powerful satire" on the so called political strata of that time which prevailed in India and Pakistan. How even the emotions and feelings of a mentally unstable man are mocked by the political system without any care. Now, imagine what they could have done with the common man.
