02/03- Tariffs and market volatility

As anticipated, President Trump made the official announcement over the weekend that he is imposing 25% tariffs on Canada and Mexico, and a 10% tariff against China.  This caused a major selloff in the market.  Then, not long after the market opened, he postponed the tariff against Mexico for 30 days and the market recovered.  So how can you protect your portfolio against this market volatility?
