103 - Creating ”Small Supports” Services with Steve Bardsley

In this episode local authority commissioner, Steve Bardsley shares how he has helped to establish a small supports service in Leeds, creating new services which take a person centred approach to create homes and support for those who have higher needs. 

Steve Bardsley has been working to improve the lives and outcomes for people with a learning disability for 38 years. He was involved in two successful hospital resettlement programmes - Darenth Park in Kent and as the Resettlement manager for the Fieldhead hospital resettlement in Wakefield and has held senior roles across health, social care and the voluntary sector.

Steve is  currently the Joint Commissioning Manager Learning Disabilities, commissioning creative services for adults with a learning disability for Leeds city council and the Integrated Commissioning Board via a Pooled budget arrangement.
