Blessings, blessings everywhere,
But I can’t see even one.
I’ve let life get too serious,
It’s depleted all the fun.
PAUSE…
I look too long at the gaps,
Between my dreams and right now.
The space is filled with judgment,
I’m always failing somehow.
PAUSE…
Tiny pricks of guilt,
Small paper cuts of shame.
I’m bleeding way too much now,
And I’m always the one to blame.
PAUSE…
The spiral quickly takes me,
To all that is wrong with me.
The reflection naturally darkens,
I crumble and want to flee.
PAUSE…
But if I can just PAUSE…
And let breath fill the space,
There’s a lovely disruption,
Love shines upon my face.
LONG PAUSE…
The pause becomes a opening,
For love to enter in.
It reminds me that I’m whole,
The best me I’ve ever been
PAUSE…
Love rides upon the waves,
Of the air flowing through,
It dissolves all the darkness,
And heals all the wounds.
PAUSE…
Pause and breathe,
And remember who you are.
Pause and be,
You shine like the stars.
LONG PAUSE…
As love begins to reside,
Within you and all around,
Your eyes can finally see,
The blessings that abound.
PAUSE…
The sun, moon and stars,
The wind, sunshine and rain.
The soft Earth below your feet,
All that seems so mundane.
PAUSE…
Your body and your mind,
That function rather well,
The laughter and love that surrounds you,
The ways in which you excel.
PAUSE…
Like flowers painting the field,
Wild with colors and sweet scents,
Your blessings are innumerable,
Your gratitude is immense.

So pause and breathe it in,
The fragrance of your life.
It’s rich with so much goodness,
Step away from all the strife.
