My guest today is mixed media artist, Phoebe Gander. Phoebe paints semi-abstract landscapes and seascapes that are rich with layers and textural details. Originally from England, Phoebe now lives in New Zealand with her husband and three children.
This is a very raw and tender conversation.
Phoebe talks about how coming back to art after a long break helped her to overcome severe anxiety, cope with her son’s extra needs (he has ADHD) and find purpose beyond motherhood.
We also chat about how Phoebe’s art has changed and what it has been like to move away from resin and alcohol inks and return to her love of mixed media landscapes.
I want to say a big thank you to Phoebe for being vulnerable in this episode and for encouraging all of us to embrace our differences.
