The true purpose of Christianity is to pursue what the Lord offers (His Kingdom) so that it can be established in us. Yet we often lose focus of this calling, turning our Christian walk into a pursuit of carnal desires rather than finding fulfillment in the genuine pursuit of the Kingdom. But if indeed it is the Kingdom of God that we truly long for, then we must submit to the Lord's leadings (even through the wilderness), trusting that He will bring us into the promised land (spiritual life).
In this message titled “The Path Through The Wilderness,” Pastor Jeffrey Walter offers a profound insight into the believer’s spiritual journey towards God, drawing a clear parallel to the Israelites’ journey from Egypt to the Promised Land. He unveils the spiritual significance of the journey through the wilderness, emphasising that it is the most challenging—yet bravest—of all human endeavors. He also explains the importance of the challenges and temptations encountered along the way and why many see challenges as a sign to forfeit their journey. He highlights the inner struggle against the desires of the flesh as a true sign of God leading man into the Promised Land and cautions against the doctrine that leads people away from experiencing this contention. He concludes by affirming that this path, when faithfully endured to the end, will surely lead us to the Promised Land.
The Lord desires to cleanse us of our deep-rooted desires for the world and lead us into His Kingdom. So stay the course, beloved! For it is in the wilderness that you truly choose the spiritual life and enter into the delights of the Promised Land.
