MISSING: Derek Ritz (Sebringville, Ontario)

Derek Ritz, also known as Ritzy, disappeared at the age of 51. He was last seen at 3 a.m. on Dec. 31 at a home on Avonton Road in Sebringville, Ontario.

The police investigation into Ritz's disappearance is ongoing, and no official conclusion has been reached. However, a private investigator from Please Bring Me Home, a Canadian organization, is actively working on the case.

This investigator, who has been involved since the summer of 2020, believes they are close to uncovering the truth. The leading theory involves a small group of individuals who allegedly assaulted Ritz and disposed of his remains in various ways, making it difficult for the police to recover his body.

Despite these theories and speculation, no charges have been laid. I spoke with Shelly Smith, a Stratford resident searching for Derek, about Derek's disappearance. I want to be clear: What Shelly and I discussed is speculative—at this time, no charges have been laid against any individuals.
