Episode 141: Blazing Saddles (1974)

This week at The Film Club we’re talking about one of the funniest and satirical Westerns of all time, Blazing Saddles. The film tells the story of Bart who is a charming and intelligent railroad worker who gets promoted to Sheriff of a small town named Rock Ridge. Though the towns people are not excited about their new Sheriff, Bart is determined to make Rock Ridge a better place. Bart not only has to deal with his new community but he has to deal with relentless thugs who are sent to destroy Rock Ridge. Bart befriends a retired alcoholic gunslinger named Jim “The Waco Kid” who decides to come out of retirement and help Bart. Can Bart and Jim stop the thugs and save the town? Or will the town be destroyed? Join us as we dive into the world of Blazing Saddles.
